Donella H. Meadows was a pioneering environmental scientist, author, and systems analyst renowned for her influential work in sustainability and systems thinking. Born in 1941, she earned a Ph.D. in biophysics from Harvard University and became a faculty member at Dartmouth College. As the lead author of "The Limits to Growth," published in 1972, Meadows sparked global discourse on ecological and economic sustainability. She founded the Sustainability Institute, later renamed the Donella Meadows Institute, to further research on sustainable systems. Meadows was celebrated for her ability to make complex scientific concepts accessible, and her legacy continues to inspire environmentalists worldwide.
