Kiran Desai

Kiran Desai is an acclaimed Indian author known for her rich narratives and insightful exploration of complex themes like identity and globalization. Born on September 3, 1971, in New Delhi, she is the daughter of the celebrated author Anita Desai. Kiran's education at Bennington College and the Iowa Writers' Workshop honed her literary skills, leading to her debut novel "Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard," which won the Betty Trask Award. Her second novel, "The Inheritance of Loss," received international acclaim, earning the 2006 Man Booker Prize.
