Luis Carlos Montalván

Luis Carlos Montalván was a decorated U.S. Army veteran, author, and advocate for veterans and people with disabilities. Born in 1973, Montalván served two tours in Iraq, earning numerous accolades for his service. After returning home with physical injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), he chronicled his experiences in the memoir "Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him," co-authored with Bret Witter. The book highlights the profound bond between Montalván and his service dog, Tuesday, and became a New York Times bestseller. Montalván was passionate about raising awareness on PTSD, service dogs, and veterans' issues until his passing in 2016.
