Jeffrey Eugenides is a distinguished American novelist renowned for his compelling storytelling and intricate character development. Born in Detroit in 1960, Eugenides has a rich Greek and Irish heritage, which informs much of his narrative perspective. He earned his BA from Brown University and an MFA from Stanford University. Eugenides achieved critical acclaim with his debut novel, *The Virgin Suicides* (1993), adapted into a successful film. His Pulitzer Prize-winning second novel, *Middlesex* (2002), explores themes of identity, history, and transformation. Eugenides also wrote *The Marriage Plot* (2011) and continues to contribute to literature with profound insight and humanity.
