Martin Walker is a British-American journalist and novelist best known for his beloved Bruno, Chief of Police mystery series set in the Dordogne region of France. A former senior director of the Global Business Policy Council and longtime foreign correspondent, Walker has reported from over 60 countries and authored several works of nonfiction on international affairs. His Bruno novels, beginning with "Bruno, Chief of Police" (also published as "Death in the Dordogne"), combine intricate mysteries with rich depictions of French rural life, cuisine, and culture. Walker divides his time between Washington, D.C. and the Périgord region of France that inspired his atmospheric series.
