Antoine Leiris

Antoine Leiris is a French author and journalist working for Radio France. He is best known for his poignant and widely shared open letter addressed to the terrorists responsible for the November 2015 Paris attacks, in which his wife, Hélène Muyal-Leiris, was killed at the Bataclan concert hall. The letter, which defiantly refused to grant hatred in return for hatred, became a global phenomenon and was expanded into the memoir "You Will Not Have My Hate". The book has been translated into numerous languages and later adapted into a film. Leiris continues to write and raise his son, Melvil.
