Chris Abani is a celebrated Nigerian-American author, poet, and educator known for his compelling storytelling and rich narratives. Born in 1966 in Afikpo, Nigeria, Abani's works often explore themes of identity, exile, and redemption, drawing heavily from his diverse cultural heritage and personal experiences. He gained international acclaim with his novel "Graceland," which won the 2005 Hemingway/PEN Prize. Abani's poetic brilliance is showcased in collections like "Sanctificum" and "Hands Washing Water." With a Ph.D. in Literature and Creative Writing, he currently teaches at Northwestern University.
