Mark Greengrass is a British historian and Emeritus Professor of Early Modern History at the University of Sheffield. A leading authority on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Europe, he specializes in the French Wars of Religion, the Reformation, and the history of early modern France. He is the author of several acclaimed works, including "Christendom Destroyed: Europe 1517–1648" and "France in the Age of Henri IV." Greengrass has also played a pivotal role in editing the papers of Samuel Hartlib and advancing digital humanities scholarship.
