Nadifa Mohamed is a celebrated Somali-British novelist born in 1981 in Hargeisa, Somaliland. She moved to London with her family in the 1980s, enriching her cultural perspective. Mohamed studied History and Politics at St Hilda's College, Oxford. Her literary career took off with her debut novel, "Black Mamba Boy," which won critical acclaim and several awards. Her second novel, "The Orchard of Lost Souls," further established her as a powerful voice in contemporary literature. In 2021, she was shortlisted for the Booker Prize for her novel "The Fortune Men." Mohamed's writing explores themes of migration, identity, and resilience.
