Tsitsi Dangarembga is a renowned Zimbabwean author and filmmaker, best known for her critically acclaimed novel "Nervous Conditions," which was the first book in a trilogy that also includes "The Book of Not" and "This Mournable Body." Born in 1959, she spent her early childhood in England before returning to Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. A multifaceted artist, Dangarembga studied at Cambridge University and later pursued film studies in Berlin. As a filmmaker, she has directed several short films and feature films addressing social issues in Zimbabwe. Dangarembga is also an outspoken activist, advocating for gender equality and social justice.
