Emily Jungmin Yoon is a Korean American poet whose work explores themes of violence, colonialism, and the female body. She is the author of two acclaimed poetry collections: "A Cruelty Special to Our Species," which examines the history of Korean "comfort women" during World War II, and "Oddly Sad," published under the title "Find Me as the Creature I Am" in some editions. Her poetry has appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies. Yoon has received fellowships from the Fulbright Program and others. She holds an MFA from New York University and a PhD in Korean Literature from the University of Chicago.
