Jasmin Darznik is an acclaimed Iranian-American author known for her evocative storytelling and exploration of cultural identity and family history. She is best known for her New York Times bestselling debut, "The Good Daughter: A Memoir of My Mother’s Hidden Life," which intricately weaves personal narrative with the complexities of heritage and discovery. Her follow-up novel, "Song of a Captive Bird," pays homage to Iranian poet Forugh Farrokhzad and was celebrated for its rich historical detail and lyrical prose. Born in Tehran, Darznik’s work often reflects themes of diaspora and resilience. She teaches creative writing and literature at California College of the Arts.
