About

Oswald Wynd was a Scottish author born in Tokyo in 1913. The son of Scottish missionaries, he was deeply influenced by his multicultural upbringing, which later informed much of his writing. After being educated in Edinburgh, he served in the British Army during World War II, where he was captured and held as a prisoner of war in Japan. His experiences there profoundly shaped his literary voice. Wynd is best known for "The Ginger Tree," a novel exploring cultural and personal identity. His work often features strong narratives and complex characters, reflecting his cross-cultural experiences and deep understanding of human nature.
