About

Edward Carey is a British novelist and visual artist known for his darkly imaginative and intricately illustrated fiction. Born in England, he studied at the Royal Academy of Art and later moved to the United States. His acclaimed novels include "Observatory Mansions," "Heap House" (the first book in the Iremonger trilogy), and "Little," a haunting reimagining of Madame Tussaud's life. Carey's work blends Gothic sensibility with historical detail and macabre humor, often accompanied by his own pen-and-ink drawings. He teaches creative writing at the University of Texas at Austin, where he continues to craft his distinctive literary worlds.
