NoViolet Bulawayo, a critically acclaimed Zimbabwean author, was born in 1981 in Tsholotsho, Zimbabwe. She is best known for her debut novel, "We Need New Names," which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2013. Bulawayo’s writing vividly captures the complexities of life in Zimbabwe and the immigrant experience in America, blending poignant storytelling with rich cultural insights. Having earned an MFA from Cornell University, she has received several prestigious fellowships, including from the Truman Capote Literary Trust. Bulawayo continues to be a significant voice in contemporary African literature, drawing readers into her vibrant narrative worlds.
