Richard C. Schwartz is a psychotherapist and the creator of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, a revolutionary approach to psychotherapy that views the mind as naturally composed of distinct sub-personalities or "parts." He is the author of "No Bad Parts" and "Internal Family Systems Therapy," foundational texts that have transformed mental health treatment worldwide. Schwartz developed IFS in the 1980s and has since trained thousands of therapists in this evidence-based model. He holds a PhD in marriage and family therapy and is a founding member of the IFS Institute. His compassionate approach emphasizes that all parts of ourselves deserve understanding and have positive intentions.
