John Reed was an American journalist, poet, and revolutionary activist best known for his firsthand account of the Bolshevik Revolution in "Ten Days that Shook the World". A Harvard-educated writer and war correspondent, Reed witnessed some of the most pivotal events of the early 20th century, from the Mexican Revolution to World War I. His passionate commitment to socialist ideals and vivid reportage made him one of the most influential radical journalists of his era. Reed died in Moscow in 1920 at age 32 and remains the only American buried in the Kremlin Wall Necropolis.
