Jan Carson

Jan Carson is a Belfast-based writer and community arts facilitator known for her bold, imaginative storytelling rooted in the complexities of Northern Irish life. Her debut novel, "The Fire Starters," won the EU Prize for Literature and showcases her gift for blending magical realism with the raw tensions of a divided society. Carson is also the author of the short story collections "Postcard Stories" and "Children's Children," and the novel "Malcolm Orange Disappears." Her work has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and 4 and featured in numerous literary journals. She is widely regarded as one of Ireland's most distinctive contemporary voices.
