Carlos Eire is a celebrated Cuban-American author and historian, known for his compelling works that explore themes of exile, identity, and spirituality. Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1950, Eire fled to the United States as a child during Operation Pedro Pan. His memoir, "Waiting for Snow in Havana," won the National Book Award for Nonfiction in 2003, offering a poignant account of his early life and the Cuban Revolution. A graduate of Yale University, Eire holds a Ph.D. in history and religious studies, and has penned several influential books. He currently teaches at Yale University, enriching students with his expertise.
