Esther Freud

Esther Freud is a celebrated British novelist, born in 1963 in London. She is best known for her debut novel, *Hideous Kinky*, a semi-autobiographical tale inspired by her childhood experiences in Morocco, which was later adapted into a successful film. Freud's work is characterized by its vivid storytelling and keen insights into the intricacies of familial and personal relationships. A descendant of the famed Freud family, Esther has carved her own niche in the literary world with novels like *The Sea House* and *Mr Mac and Me*. Besides writing, she has a background in acting and co-founded the women's theater company Norfolk Broads.
