About

Sir Thomas Malory was a 15th-century English writer best known for compiling "Le Morte d'Arthur", the definitive collection of Arthurian legends. Little is known with certainty about his life, though he is believed to have been a knight who spent time in prison, where he likely wrote his masterwork. Completed around 1470 and published by William Caxton in 1485, "Le Morte d'Arthur" synthesized French and English sources into a cohesive narrative of King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot, and the Knights of the Round Table. His work profoundly shaped the Arthurian literary tradition and remains the primary source for later adaptations of these timeless tales.
