Ellen Forney

Ellen Forney is an acclaimed cartoonist and graphic memoirist known for her work that often explores the intersections of art, mental health, and personal identity. Her best-known work, "Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo, and Me," is a profound exploration of her own experience with bipolar disorder, rendered through evocative and insightful illustrations. A recipient of the Eisner Award, Forney has also contributed to various anthologies and periodicals, showcasing her distinctive blend of humor and vulnerability. In addition to her creative endeavors, she advocates for mental health awareness and teaches at the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle.
