Moniquill Blackgoose is an Indigenous author and member of the Seaconke Wampanoag Tribe. She writes speculative fiction that centers Indigenous perspectives and challenges colonial narratives. Her debut novel, "To Shape a Dragon's Breath," published in 2023, reimagines dragon-riding fantasy through an Indigenous lens, following a young Algonquian woman who bonds with a dragon and must navigate a colonial academy. Blackgoose draws on her heritage and experiences to craft stories that celebrate Indigenous cultures while exploring themes of resistance, identity, and self-determination. She lives in southeastern Massachusetts with her family.
