About

Don Malarkey was an American war hero and author best known for his gripping memoir "Easy Company Soldier," co-written with Bob Welch. A veteran of World War II, Malarkey served as a sergeant in the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division — the legendary Easy Company immortalized in Stephen Ambrose's "Band of Brothers." Born in Astoria, Oregon, he parachuted into Normandy on D-Day and fought through some of the war's most harrowing campaigns. His memoir offered an intimate, firsthand account of courage, loss, and lifelong brotherhood forged on the battlefields of Europe. Malarkey passed away in 2021.
