Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay

Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay is a celebrated Bengali author and journalist renowned for his vivid storytelling and richly imagined worlds. Born in 1935 in Mymensingh (now Bangladesh), he has spent much of his life in Kolkata, where he rose to prominence as a writer for the iconic magazine Anandabazar Patrika. His works span literary fiction, children's literature, and supernatural tales, earning him a devoted readership across generations. Among his most beloved works are "The Aunt Who Wouldn't Die" and "মনোজদের অদ্ভুত বাড়ি." A recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, Mukhopadhyay remains one of Bengal's most treasured literary voices.
