Mahzarin R. Banaji is the Richard Clarke Cabot Professor of Social Ethics at Harvard University, where she has taught since 2002. A pioneering psychologist, she co-developed the Implicit Association Test (IAT), a groundbreaking tool that measures unconscious bias. Born in India, Banaji earned her PhD from Ohio State University and has received numerous honors for her research on the hidden biases that shape human behavior and decision-making. Her work bridges psychology, ethics, and social justice. Co-authored with Anthony Greenwald, "Blindspot: Hidden Biases of Good People" translates decades of scientific research into accessible insights about the prejudices lurking beneath conscious awareness.
