Her debut novel, "The Black Kids," set against the backdrop of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, received widespread critical acclaim and established her as a powerful voice in young adult fiction. Her follow-up, "The Johnson Four," further showcases her ability to craft deeply human stories with nuance and heart. Reed holds an MFA in Screenwriting from USC and brings a cinematic sensibility to her literary work.
