Molly McCully Brown is an American poet and essayist whose work explores disability, history, and embodiment. Born with cerebral palsy, she examines the intersections of physical experience and institutional memory in her writing. Her poetry collection "The Virginia State Colony for Epileptics and Feebleminded" investigates the history of eugenics in America, while her essay collection "Places I've Taken My Body" chronicles her navigation of the world in a disabled body. Brown is a recipient of numerous awards including a Whiting Award and has been widely published in literary journals. She teaches creative writing and lives in rural Alabama.
