Elizabeth von Arnim (1866–1941) was a British author famed for her insightful and humorous novels. Born Mary Annette Beauchamp in Australia, she spent much of her childhood in England. Her literary career took off with her semi-autobiographical debut, "Elizabeth and Her German Garden" (1898), which became a bestseller. She wrote more than 20 books, including "The Enchanted April" and "The Caravaners," known for their wit, exploration of women's independence, and vivid descriptions of nature. Von Arnim's works often drew from her own life experiences, including her time spent living in Germany and Switzerland. Her keen observations on society and human relationships continue to resonate with readers today.
