Deepa Varadarajan is an American author and law professor of Indian descent. Her debut novel *Late Bloomers* (2024) explores themes of family, identity, and the immigrant experience through the story of an Indian American family in Texas. Varadarajan's writing is characterized by its warmth, humor, and nuanced portrayal of intergenerational dynamics and cultural assimilation. She draws on her own experiences growing up in a South Indian family in suburban America. In addition to fiction, she has published essays on topics ranging from family life to popular culture.
