Joshua Whitehead is an acclaimed Oji-Cree, Two-Spirit storyteller, known for his groundbreaking work in literature and cultural advocacy. Born and raised in Manitoba, Canada, Whitehead has become a powerful voice in contemporary Indigenous writing. His novel "Jonny Appleseed," celebrated for its raw and poetic exploration of identity, queerness, and community, won the Lambda Literary Award for Gay Fiction and was longlisted for the Giller Prize. In addition to his fiction, Whitehead's poetry and essays have appeared in numerous publications, where he continues to explore themes of decolonization and resilience. Whitehead is also a passionate educator and public speaker.
