Chögyam Trungpa (1939-1987) was a pioneering Tibetan Buddhist meditation master and influential teacher who played a pivotal role in bringing Buddhism to the West. Born in Tibet, Trungpa was recognized as the eleventh Trungpa tulku and underwent extensive monastic training. Fleeing Tibet during the Chinese invasion, he eventually settled in the United States.
