Description

Six real British spies (one of whom dies), plus a fake national network, divert Nazi attention from 6 June 1944 so that 150,000 Allied troops landing on the beaches of Normandy sustained lower-than-expected casualties. The story features the handsome, brilliant director "Tar", colorful MI5 handlers, and their Nazi counterparts. The nucleus of agents includes the Wodehouse-like Wooster imitator Jebsen; Serbian playboy Popov; the boastful, nationalistic Polish Czerniawski; bisexual party-girl Elvira; García, who held a diploma in chicken farming; and the volatile Lily, who nearly caused their downfall after losing her dog Babs.
