Molly McKinnon’s father disappears while on a manhunt for an escaped convict. From what her family has been able to piece together, whoever kidnapped him wants the location of the money the convict went to retrieve. Growing desperate, the kidnappers will do anything to force the McKinnon patriarch to reveal what the convict told him, even going after the rest of the McKinnon family.

Former US Air Force PJ Parker Bailey was medically retired after a disastrous mission left him with a damaged leg and survivor’s guilt. He takes a job as foreman at the Iron Horse Ranch, where he’s spent the last five years working hard and keeping to himself despite the owner’s pesky daughter always being underfoot. Over the years his respect for and desire for her have grown, but he refuses to act—she’s the boss’s daughter. That changes when the boss disappears and a provoked Parker kisses Molly to shut her up.
