Robert B. Parker was a prolific American author best known for his detective fiction, particularly the Spenser series, which introduced readers to the witty Boston private investigator, Spenser. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1932, Parker earned a Ph.D. in English literature from Boston University. He published his first Spenser novel, "The Godwulf Manuscript," in 1973, establishing a modern take on the hard-boiled detective genre. Over his career, Parker wrote dozens of novels, extending his talents to include the Jesse Stone and Sunny Randall series. A respected figure in crime fiction, Parker passed away in 2010, leaving a lasting literary legacy.
