Gene Luen Yang is a renowned American cartoonist and author, celebrated for his groundbreaking work in graphic novels. He gained prominence with "American Born Chinese," which became the first graphic novel to be a National Book Award finalist and won the Michael L. Printz Award. Yang has explored themes of identity, culture, and superheroes, further showcased in his acclaimed series "Boxers & Saints" and his work on DC Comics' "Superman." In addition to his writing, Yang advocates for the integration of comics in education. He was appointed the National Ambassador for Young People's Literature in 2016, promoting the love of reading among youth.
